Issue Date: 2026-10-08
Issue date: October 8, 2026 Effective date: when you accept this version, subject to applicable law. Part A — Terms that apply to everyone A1. Who operates RouteVault and what you accept RouteVault is operated by Brendan Armstrong, carrying on business as MooseMtnServices, a sole proprietorship. Business address: 7515 84 St SE, Calgary, AB T2C 4Y1, Canada Email: support@routevault.app Telephone: +1 587 216 9415 “We,” “us,” and “our” refer to this operator. These terms govern your use of RouteVault and its associated services. Selecting “Agree & Continue” confirms your acceptance. Accepting these terms does not purchase a subscription. Part A applies to everyone. If Québec consumer law protects your agreement, Part B also applies. Otherwise, Part C applies, subject to mandatory law. Your language selection does not determine which laws protect you. Nothing in these terms removes rights or obligations that applicable law does not allow the parties to exclude. A2. What RouteVault provides RouteVault provides trip and expense tracking, record organization, reports, analytics, and optional paid features called Pro. RouteVault is a productivity tool. It does not provide legal, tax, accounting, regulatory, navigation, emergency, or safety advice. You are responsible for deciding whether your records meet your needs and the requirements of your employer, accountant, tax authority, or other recipient. We do not promise that any report, deduction, expense, or reimbursement request will be accepted. Use RouteVault safely and lawfully. Do not operate the app while driving. A3. Tracking accuracy and your records Tracking depends on your device, operating system, permissions, sensors, GPS, network access, and other technical conditions. Battery settings, background restrictions, weak signals, and disabled permissions can affect operation. Trips, distances, routes, timestamps, classifications, extracted receipt details, estimates, and automated suggestions may contain errors or omissions. Review and correct your records before using them for a tax return, reimbursement, business decision, or other submission. You remain responsible for those decisions and submissions. Keep independent copies of important records and verify that your exports are complete and usable. A4. Storage, backups, and recovery The free plan includes one active device-transfer backup that expires after seven days. Pro backup frequency, storage limits, and retention periods depend on the plan and the information provided before purchase. Data can be lost through device failure, app deletion, account actions, corruption, outages, software errors, or backup and synchronization failures. Backups provide a recovery option, but a particular backup may be incomplete or unusable. Do not rely on RouteVault as your only copy of records you must retain. Storage and backup features are not an insurance product. Responsibility for a loss is governed by the applicable provisions of Parts B or C and by law. A5. Devices, networks, and outside providers RouteVault depends on compatible hardware, operating systems, internet access, and third-party services. Interruptions or changes to those systems may delay or prevent some features from working. We may use or change service providers as part of operating RouteVault, subject to our contractual and legal obligations. An outage or incident involving an outside provider does not, by itself, establish who is legally responsible. Responsibility depends on the applicable agreement, the circumstances, and the law. We retain any legally available defences, including force majeure where its legal requirements are met. You are responsible for your device, internet, mobile-data, and roaming charges. A6. Accounts and acceptable use Provide accurate information where it is required to operate your account or process a purchase. Protect your login credentials and promptly report suspected unauthorized access. You must not use RouteVault to: • Falsify records or commit fraud. • Upload material you have no right to use. • Infringe another person’s rights. • Bypass access controls or obtain unauthorized access. • Interfere with the service or its security. You must use the app within the access and usage limits of your plan. A7. Privacy and security Our Privacy Policy (https://routevault.app/privacy) explains how personal information is handled. Accepting these terms does not automatically grant device permissions or enable optional improvement-data sharing. Those choices are handled separately. RouteVault uses encryption for stored data but does not provide end-to-end encryption. For information held by RouteVault services, including cloud backups, encryption keys may be managed by RouteVault or its service providers. No security measure eliminates every risk. We may preserve or disclose information when required by applicable law or valid legal process, subject to our privacy obligations. A8. Pro subscriptions and pricing Pro is optional. Available plans may be billed monthly or annually. The purchase screen identifies the plan’s features, price, currency, applicable taxes, billing period, renewal conditions, and any trial or promotional terms. Those details form part of your subscription agreement. Subscriptions renew automatically as disclosed at purchase unless cancelled, subject to applicable law. We may change prices and introduce, modify, or withdraw plans, trials, and promotions for new purchases at any time. An existing subscription does not guarantee the same price or discount indefinitely. For an existing subscription, a price increase applies only to a future billing period or lawful renewal, after any required notice and consent. We will not increase the agreed subscription price during a month or year already paid for. If notice or consent requirements have not been satisfied before the next billing date, the increase cannot take effect on that date. Apple’s billing requirements also apply to App Store purchases. Québec consumers additionally receive the protections in Part B. A9. Cancellation and refunds For an App Store subscription, manage or cancel renewal through your Apple Account subscription settings. For a website subscription, use the RouteVault account billing controls or contact support@routevault.app. Deleting the app or your RouteVault account does not itself cancel subscription billing. Ordinary cancellation of renewal stops future renewal charges and leaves access until the end of the paid period. An earlier cancellation or refund may apply where required by law. Refunds and credits are provided where required by applicable law, binding purchase-platform rules, or an offer expressly made for your purchase. These terms do not include an additional voluntary refund or credit for unused time. Refund requests for App Store purchases may be submitted to Apple. You may also contact us about your legal rights. A10. Changes to these terms We may update provisions concerning: • Prices for future subscription periods and billing arrangements. • Available features, usage limits, storage limits, and retention periods. • Device and software compatibility. • Account security, permitted use, and licence conditions. • Support and administrative procedures. We may make these changes to operate, protect, develop, or commercialize RouteVault, respond to legal or technical changes, or reflect costs and business requirements. Revised terms will identify their issue date and effective date. We will provide any notice and obtain any consent required by law or the purchase platform. When we request your agreement to updated terms, we will send a notice to the email address on your account and a push notification where enabled and available. The notice will link to a review of the changes and the full terms. You can expressly accept the update using the agreement checkbox and button in the app. For Québec consumers, the amendment process is in B2. For other users, acceptance of revised terms is addressed in C3. Changes apply prospectively and do not remove rights or remedies that have already arisen. Routine maintenance, bug fixes, and improvements that do not change contractual rights or obligations do not require new acceptance of these terms. A11. Service changes, suspension, and discontinuation We may maintain and develop RouteVault, change its design or technology, and update compatibility requirements. Changes to features or other existing contractual commitments follow A10 and applicable law. We do not promise to offer a particular plan or feature indefinitely beyond our contractual and legal obligations. We may restrict, suspend, or terminate access for non-payment, material breach of these terms, unlawful use, fraud, or a security threat, where legally permitted. We will provide notice or an opportunity to resolve the issue when required by law. We may act immediately where necessary and legally permitted to protect the service, users, or others. We may discontinue a service or decline to offer a future subscription where legally permitted, subject to existing commitments, required notice, and any required refund or data-access rights. Additional Québec rules appear in B3. A12. Ownership and licence You receive a limited, non-exclusive licence to use RouteVault according to these terms and your plan. RouteVault’s software, branding, and other intellectual property remain the property of their respective owners. You retain your rights in your records and attachments. You authorize the processing needed to provide the features you request, subject to our privacy obligations. This permission does not transfer ownership of your records to us. A13. How these terms work with other rights Specific commitments disclosed for your purchase remain part of your agreement. Mandatory laws take priority over conflicting wording in these terms. This includes applicable consumer, privacy, and language laws. Some mandatory protections also apply to business users. If a provision cannot be enforced, the remaining provisions continue to apply to the extent permitted by law. Part B — Terms for consumers protected by Québec law B1. Warranties, responsibility, and remedies Your agreement includes the warranties and protections required by Québec law. Our responsibility, available defences, and any compensation or other remedy are determined by applicable law. These terms do not create an additional promise to compensate you whenever an error, outage, data loss, or security incident occurs. Nothing in these terms excludes a responsibility or remedy that the law does not allow us to exclude. Applicable rules concerning online-contract disclosures, delivery of a contract copy, cancellation, refunds, and chargebacks remain in effect. A purchase-platform policy does not replace those rules. B2. Changes to your contract For a contract governed by Québec’s Consumer Protection Act, we may change the elements listed in A10 without a new agreement only where the law permits. We will send a clear, readable written notice at least 30 days before the change takes effect. That notice will contain only: • The new clause, or both the existing and amended clause. • The effective date. • Your applicable refusal and cancellation rights. If the change increases your obligations or reduces ours, you may refuse it and end the contract without cost, penalty, or cancellation indemnity by sending us notice no later than 30 days after the change takes effect. Except for an indeterminate-term service contract, this amendment power cannot be used to change an essential element, such as the nature of the service, its price, or the contract’s duration. A change that does not comply with these requirements cannot be enforced against you. Where a separate agreement is required, we must obtain the necessary consent and follow the required formalities. B3. Renewal, cancellation, and service termination Subscription renewal follows Québec law, including any requirement that renewal be for an indeterminate term. Your statutory cancellation and refund rights remain available even where the ordinary billing process provides access until the end of a paid period. We may terminate a fixed-term service contract only on grounds permitted by law. If we terminate an indeterminate-term service contract involving ongoing performance while you are not in default, we will give at least 60 days’ written notice, as required by law. B4. Language and disputes Québec law and the federal laws of Canada applicable in Québec govern your consumer agreement. You may use the competent Québec courts. These terms do not impose mandatory arbitration or waive class-action rights. A French version of the agreement is provided without charge. Where Québec language law requires it, that version must be provided before you expressly choose to enter into the agreement in English. Your device language alone does not establish that choice. Neither language version limits your rights under Québec’s language laws. Part C — Additional terms for other users C1. Warranty exclusions — This section does not apply to Québec consumers To the extent permitted by applicable law, RouteVault is provided “as is” and “as available,” without implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement, and without a contractual guarantee of uninterrupted or error-free operation. This exclusion does not override an express commitment made for your purchase or a warranty that the law does not allow us to exclude. C2. Liability limits — This section does not apply to Québec consumers To the extent permitted by applicable law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, lost profits, or lost business opportunities arising from RouteVault. Our total liability arising from the service is limited to the greater of: • CAD $100, or • The amount you paid for RouteVault during the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim. These limits do not apply to fraud, intentional or gross fault, bodily or moral injury, or a liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited. They do not restrict mandatory refunds or other remedies that cannot legally be waived. C3. Acceptance of updates — This section does not apply to Québec consumers Where applicable law permits, continuing to use RouteVault after notice of revised terms and their effective date constitutes acceptance. Where express consent is required, continued use does not replace it. If we ask you to expressly agree to an update in the app, that update is accepted only when you use the agreement control. C4. Governing law and courts — This section does not apply to Québec consumers Subject to mandatory rights in your jurisdiction, these terms are governed by Alberta law and the federal laws of Canada applicable there. Disputes are brought before the competent Alberta courts. This provision does not remove access to another court or protection where mandatory law provides it. C5. Business indemnity — This section does not apply to consumers, including Québec consumers If you use RouteVault for a business, you must reimburse us for reasonable, proven losses and third-party claim costs directly caused by your intentional unlawful use, fraud, or infringement of another person’s rights. This obligation does not cover our fault or that of our representatives, ordinary authorized use, or the exercise of a legal right. We must notify you promptly of a relevant claim and take reasonable steps to limit the loss. We will not agree to a settlement imposing an admission or obligation on you without your consent.
